Kfarzebian Irrigation Network

Kfarzebian, in the Kesrouan highlands of Mount Lebanon, needed a reliable irrigation system for its agricultural land. The Ministry of Energy and Water programmed a full network rehabilitation and extension drawing on available spring and reservoir sources.

Libanconsult delivered the detailed design and tender documents between 2019 and 2021.

The scheme comprises 70 km of irrigation network - rehabilitated existing channels combined with new pipe and canal sections selected on topographic analysis - four irrigation reservoirs of 5,000 m3 each, land reclamation works, and the hydraulic control and distribution structures needed to operate the network. Services covered topographic survey, hydraulic design, structural design of the reservoirs and ancillary works, bill of quantities and tender documentation.

The Ministry holds a tender-ready scheme putting 70 km of irrigation network and 20,000 m3 of storage behind the agricultural economy of the upper Kesrouan.
