Boqaata Dam Watershed Wastewater Scheme

The Boqaata Dam watershed, spanning the Keserwan and Metn cazas of Mount Lebanon, needs dedicated wastewater infrastructure to keep upstream contamination out of the reservoir. The Ministry of Energy and Water commissioned an integrated feasibility, environmental and design package.

Libanconsult delivered the assignment between 2018 and 2021.

The work covered the feasibility assessment, environmental impact assessment and detailed design of wastewater networks and treatment facilities across the watershed, sized to intercept upstream flows before they reach the reservoir.

The Ministry holds a tender-ready package to protect the Boqaata Dam reservoir at source.
