Chouf Wastewater Treatment Plants Rehabilitation

The Chouf's mountain communities are served by a dispersed set of small municipal wastewater treatment plants, each too small to sustain its own engineering capability. The Council for Development and Reconstruction commissioned a series of mandates to bring technical consistency across them.

Libanconsult delivered four successive mandates: the detailed study of the Kfarkatra Wastewater Project for Kfarkatra Municipality (2008), supervision of the Kfarkatra wastewater network (2012-2013), supervision of the Kfarkatra WWTP, and supervision of the rehabilitation works and long-term O&M of the Jdeideh El-Chouf, Ainbal and Gharife WWTPs.

Scope covered supervision of rehabilitation works and multi-year operation and maintenance of the four small municipal plants, together with design and construction supervision of the Kfarkatra network.

Four Chouf villages have had continuous, consistent engineering oversight of their treatment plants for more than a decade.
