Ghazir Wastewater Plant Environmental Assessment

The Ghazir area of Kesrouan needed a wastewater treatment plant and pumping station to serve its catchment and integrate with the wider Kesrouan coastal wastewater system. The Council for Development and Reconstruction commissioned a combined Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for both facilities.

Libanconsult delivered the ESIA between 2015 and 2016.

The assessment covered baseline characterisation, impact analysis, mitigation measures and the Environmental and Social Management Plan required for authorisation, prepared to Lebanese and World Bank standards for wastewater infrastructure.

The ESIA gave the Ghazir WWTP and its PS4 pumping station the environmental clearance and management framework needed to progress to detailed design and execution.
