Jabal Amel Water Supply Systems

Around 41 villages across the Jabal Amel region of South Lebanon had no reliable potable water. The Council for Development and Reconstruction set out to supply them from regional sources through engineered pumping, transmission and storage.

Libanconsult delivered the detailed design and tender documents between 2006 and 2010, providing the full technical basis for procurement and execution.

The scheme is anchored on two pumping stations: Chakra at 11,280 m3/day with 240 m TMH and 0.6 MW installed, and Chebba at 2,000 m3/day with 300 m TMH. These feed ductile iron transmission lines at 600, 500 and 450 mm and HDPE pressure lines at 800 and 600 mm, into reservoirs and water towers distributed across the served villages, and onward through the village distribution networks and their main valve chambers.

The package gave CDR a tender-ready basis for supplying 41 villages across Jabal Amel from a single engineered system.
