Joub Jannine Pumping Station and Regulation Reservoir

Joub Jannine sits at the heart of one of Lebanon's most important irrigated agricultural areas in the Western Bekaa. To stabilise water delivery and support expansion of the surrounding irrigation networks, the Council for Development and Reconstruction programmed a major pumping station and regulation reservoir, with BUTEC SAL as contractor.

Libanconsult delivered the detailed design in 2008 for BUTEC SAL under the CDR programme, covering construction works design, hydraulic, civil and electromechanical engineering, and integration with the surrounding networks.

The pumping station is designed for 0.8 m3/s at a pumping height of 49.20 m with 580 kW installed power, served by a 5,000 m3 regulation reservoir and its electromechanical and regulation equipment.

The station and reservoir form the pumping and regulation node feeding the Karaoun and Joub Jannine irrigation networks designed in parallel under the same CDR programme.
