Mascara Water Transmission from TAHT Dam

The Wilaya of Mascara in northwestern Algeria needed a secure supply of treated water from the TAHT Dam to three potable water agencies: Ain Ferrah, Oued El Abtal and Sidi Abd Eldjebar. The National Agency for Dams and Transfers commissioned the execution studies and the associated transmission and treatment works.

Libanconsult delivered the assignment between 2018 and 2024 in joint venture with SIMEC (Ukraine), covering control and approval of execution drawings and designs, updating of the environmental impact assessment, technical assistance and construction supervision.

The scheme comprises a water treatment plant rated at 12,500 m3/day, two pumping stations, four reservoirs between 1,000 m3 and 5,500 m3, 35 km of transmission pipeline from DN 250 to DN 500, and a remote management system.

Three potable water agencies in Mascara now draw reliable treated water from the TAHT Dam through 35 km of engineered transmission.
