Nabaa El Tasseh - Nabatiyeh Water Conveyor

The Nabaa el Tasseh spring is a principal source for South Lebanon, and a dedicated conveyor carries its flow to Nabatieh and the surrounding communities. The Council for Development and Reconstruction commissioned a design review and supervision mandate to bring the conveyor and its networks to modern standards.

Libanconsult provided design review and construction supervision between 2006 and 2011, covering design robustness, procurement quality and execution control across the adduction, storage and distribution works.

The works comprise 7 km of adduction lines at 250 to 450 mm, rehabilitation of two 1,500 m3 reservoirs, 51 km of HDPE distribution network at 50 to 250 mm, and 5,300 house connections served by 107 km of HDPE service pipe at 20 to 40 mm, together with the associated pumping, valve and metering works.

The conveyor brings spring water to Nabatieh and its villages through 5,300 individual household connections.
