Tashkent, Surkhandarya and Namangan Water and Wastewater

Uzbekistan's water infrastructure, built largely in the Soviet era, has deteriorated over the decades, leaving millions with unreliable service. A programme financed by the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank targets urban water and wastewater rehabilitation across Tashkent, Surkhandarya and Namangan.

Libanconsult has served as PIU support and design consultant to JSC Uzsuvtaminot since 2022, across the Tashkent Water Improvement Project (30 M USD, ADB), the Surkhandarya Water Project (50 M USD, ADB) and the Namangan Regional Water and Wastewater Project (70 M USD, World Bank).

Services span PIU support, site investigations, ESIA, conceptual (yellow-FIDIC) and detailed (red-FIDIC) design, bidding documents and tendering assistance. The works themselves cover rehabilitation and extension of water supply networks, water treatment plants, pumping stations, wastewater collection networks and wastewater treatment plants across the three regions, under international environmental and social safeguards.

The programme will bring modernised water and sanitation services to millions of people across three Uzbek regions.
