Wadi A Sahtan Water Distribution Network

The mountain villages of Wadi A Sahtan, in the Rustaq Wilayat of Al Batinah South, have long been constrained by limited and unreliable water supply. Growth in the wadi and difficult conditions for new wells meant the valley had to be supplied in full from an external source.

Libanconsult acted as sole consultant across the engineering cycle: detailed design, hydraulic modelling and tender documents (2022-2023), then Phase 1 construction supervision from 2025 for Oman Water & Wastewater Services Company.

The scheme comprises 75 km of DN 300 ductile iron transmission pipeline, two reservoirs of up to 3,000 m3, four break water tanks, two pumping stations, chlorination and SCADA systems, and upgrades to the existing local distribution networks.

A geographically difficult cluster of mountain communities now has a single, reliable piped supply carried 75 km from source.
