West Bekaa Wastewater Project

The West Bekaa Wastewater Project is one of the major sanitation investments in Lebanon's Bekaa valley, providing collection for the populations of Systems 1, 2 and 4. The Council for Development and Reconstruction commissioned an additional works contract in 2022.

Libanconsult has supervised construction of the additional works since 2022, covering design compliance, quality, schedule and contractual control.

The works comprise 75 km of gravity sewer at 200 to 400 mm, 6.5 km of pumping sewer and force main at 80 to 150 mm, 10 pumping units and the associated house connections at 150 to 200 mm, integrated with the existing West Bekaa network.

Once complete, the additional works will extend collection to previously unconnected areas and close the coverage gaps across Systems 1, 2 and 4.
