Aadloun Port

Aadloun, a coastal community in southern Lebanon, needed a new fishing port for its local fleet and safer conditions along this stretch of coast.

Libanconsult delivered the full design in 2012-2013 - topographic and bathymetric surveys, preliminary design, MIKE 21 mathematical modelling, detailed design, execution drawings and tender documents - then supervised Phase 1 and Phase 2 construction between 2015 and 2018 for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The port comprises a 591 m main breakwater at 6 m depth protected with 16 m3 Accropode armour units, a reinforced-concrete superstructure, quay, jetty and port buildings, together with sub-marine excavation and full ancillary infrastructure.

Aadloun's fleet works from a 591 m sheltered basin whose layout was validated by MIKE 21 modelling before a stone was placed.
