Batroun Port

Batroun's fishing community works out of one of Lebanon's oldest coastal towns, and its port required rehabilitation and extension to keep serving them safely.

Libanconsult provided construction supervision and technical assistance to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport between 2009 and 2012, covering survey, quality control, contract administration and inspection across all phases of the infrastructure works.

The works comprised a 100 m main breakwater at 12 m depth protected with 16 m3 Accropode units, quay and jetty structures, port buildings and the ancillary works required to bring the port into full operation.

Batroun's fishermen gained improved berthing, shelter and service facilities in a rebuilt and durable port.
