Ain El Mreisseh Port

The fishermen's port at Ain El Mreisseh has served Beirut's traditional fishing community for generations, and needed full port infrastructure to modernise its operation and shelter.

Libanconsult delivered the original design and supervision for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport between 1996 and 2005, with works executed in phases under continuous oversight.

The port comprises a 260 m main breakwater at 8 m depth protected with 16 m3 Accropode units and armour, together with quay, jetties, port buildings and ancillary works sized for the active Beiruti fleet.

Beirut's fishing fleet works from a modernised port on one of the city's most visible seafronts - a facility distinct from the adjacent Ain El Mreisseh Manara Port developed later.
