Amchit Port

Amchit sits on a relatively deep-water stretch of Lebanon's central coast, and its fishing community needed a port able to withstand that wave environment.

Libanconsult designed and supervised the port for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport between 1995 and 2003, with construction in phases under continuous supervision.

The port comprises a 265 m main breakwater at 10 m depth protected with 16 m3 Accropode units and armour, together with quay, jetties, buildings and ancillary works.

Amchit's coastal community works from a port engineered for one of the deeper exposures on this stretch of coast.
