Aquaibeh Port

Aquaibeh's fishing community needed a sheltered port, and then, sixteen years later, more capacity than the original basin could provide.

Libanconsult designed and supervised both stages for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport: the original port (1994-2004, execution in phases) and the capacity extension (2010-2012).

The original works comprise a 272 m main breakwater at 6 m depth protected with 16 m3 and 18 m3 Accropode units and armour, with quay, jetty, buildings and ancillary infrastructure. The second stage added a 200 m breakwater at 6 m depth protected with 16 m3 Accropode units, together with further quay, jetty, building and ancillary works.

Aquaibeh now has 472 m of breakwater protection and full port amenities, delivered by the same consultant across both stages.
