Chekka Port

Chekka on Lebanon's northern coast needed a dedicated fishing port to shelter its local fleet.

Libanconsult designed and supervised the port for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport between 1995 and 2000, with construction executed in phases under continuous supervision.

The port comprises a 250 m main breakwater at 8 m depth protected with armour material, together with quay, jetties, buildings and ancillary works.

Chekka's fleet has sheltered berthing behind 250 m of protected breakwater.
