Jal el Baher Port

Jal el Baher needed a new fishing port for its coastal community, designed around the local wave climate and shallow sea-bed conditions.

Libanconsult delivered the design and supervision for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport between 2009 and 2013, covering preliminary and detailed design, tender documentation and full construction supervision.

The port comprises a 156 m main breakwater at 4 m depth built with underwater concrete blocks, together with quay structures, port buildings and ancillary works suited to the shallow-water setting.

Jal el Baher's fleet works from a purpose-built port whose breakwater was engineered specifically for its shallow approach.
